How Much Did I Spend?

So I am trying a new way of buying groceries in order to help cut costs as well as hopefully build up a little food storage. The idea is to collect coupons and only use them when an item is on sale. Hopefully, you have a few coupons for each item on sale and you stock up on the item. So, Albertsons (I never have shopped at Albertsons before, I am usually Walmart through and through) had a big sale last week and this is what I got.

Here's a list in case you can't see everything:
2 Boxes Instant Potatoes
9 Boxes of Tuna/Chicken/Hamburger Helper
2 Boxes frozen vegetables
3 Boxes Brownie Mix
1 Pantene Shampoo
1 Pantene Conditioner
Dozen Eggs
4 Bags Malt O Meal Cereal
20 Yoplait Yogurts
1 3 lb Tub of Butter
1 Bag Baked Lays Chips
1 2 lb Block Cheese
1 5 lb Bag Potatoes
9 Rolls Toilet Paper
3 10 packs of Minute Maid Juice Boxes
3 Boxes Toaster Strudels
24 Bottles Dasani Water
16 20 oz Bottles of Powerade
And I have a $15 in store credit on my next purchase!
I only spent $60 which I thought was a pretty good deal and I still have that $15 when I go back. It was definitely a lot of work. I spent about 2 hrs the night before cutting coupons and getting my list organized. Then, I spent roughly 2-3 hours at the store because you had to buy it a certain way. Anyway, I think I am going to try this for a few months and see how it goes. There is a whole other world out there of coupon people. I had no idea so many people did this. I guess people lined up outside of Albertsons at 6 am on the 1st day of the sale. I don't think it's quite worth that much effort, but I'll see how things go.

It is totally hard going from a walmart only mentality to shopping at other stores. The Albies sale was one of the more difficult sale I've seen. And I KNOW the checkers hated it. from what I understood, you could have had everything rung up all in one transaction, and your coupons would print. Plus you had to take time to get used to the store! No fun. I remember the starting days.
Just wait. :) The only reason I go to walmart anymore is the diapers are cheaper there, even when other stores have their sales with coupons. :)

Good luck! Are you doing it through the pinching your pennies site? LMK if you have questions! :)

This is HUGE in my ward! I think every lady is doing it. The only problem I have is signing up for the Sunday paper. It is such a big deal for the ladies in my ward that they have 4 or 5 sunday papers delivered to their house. I just can't do it. But with all their good deals and now yours maybe I should try.
