Gage Graduates Kindergarten

Today was Gage's last day of Kindergarten. I can't believe he is done. We only have two weeks off until he starts 1st grade. I hate year round school, but that is a whole other topic. Gage has grown so much this year. He learned about the weather, all kinds of different animals, how to do simple math, and most importantly how to read among other things. I am so proud of him and how hard he has worked.

On Tuesday, the school put on an end of year program called the Spring Fling even though it was held the end June outside in the heat. Each grade performed a little dance. Gage did so good. He knew all the moves.

I felt so bad for Gage. Here he is sitting down and guess who sat right in front of him in that empty chair? The teacher of course. Poor Gage probably couldn't see any of the other grades perform. Zampedri Luck strikes again.

You can see Gage with his butt towards the camera in the brown shorts and shirt.

After the dance was done, the kids just stood around not knowing where to go or what to do next. Not my Gage. He stole the show with his bowing and waves. He even blew kisses to the audience. Gage just kept doing it. The audience started laughing after a little while.

On Wednesday, Gage's class celebrated Field Day which is their end of year party. I haven't been able to volunteer in Gage's class much this year because for some reason the teachers don't like you to bring younger siblings. Imagine that. I did plan ahead and volunteered for Field Day. It was so fun to see Gage interact with his friends. I was the only mom who brought a camera along. I have to get my pictures in while Gage is too young to care.

The station I helped at did two different relay races. Gage is trying to squeeze as much water out of his sponge. The first team to fill their bucket up won.

The second relay had the kids passing the wet sponge over their heads to the person behind them and then filling their buckets up.

Gage did great on his report card receiving mostly fours (what an A was when I was growing up) and needing to work a little more on his writing skills. I know he will be great in 1st grade and can't wait to see what it brings.

Wow! You really should put him in that drama class! I think he would be better at that than swimming!
