Joint Birthday Party

This is year two of trying to celebrate 3 birthdays in 6 days. It is proving to be difficult. Gage is having a hard time understanding that he doesn't get a huge birthday party every year. If I try to plan a party for Tanner when Gage doesn't get one, he doesn't really understand the concept of, "you'll get a party next year." Thus for the second year in a row we celebrated birthdays jointly. My birthday just gets skipped quickly over which I don't mind because the other two are so exhausting.

I had planned on having family and a few friends over to Mike's Aunt's house for a pool party. You would think the weather would be perfect for a pool party in the month of August but the day I planned one the weather didn't cooperate. It was in the 50s today so we quickly moved the party to a nearby park where it was even a little too cold for that. We made the best of it.

A few of my friends helped me make bats for the cupcakes.

Lots of people showed up and we ate pizza.

I had visions of Gage and Tanner opening presents one by one so I could get some good pictures but it turned into mass chaos. All the kids like to help open presents.

Tanner is thinking about all the things he could possible use these markers on.

Gage got more batman stuff. He was pretty excited.

I thought Tanner would get into the opening presents thing a little better this year, but he didn't. Maybe for Christmas.

We gave Tanner this water wheel table.

I think Tanner was enjoying his cupcake a little more than his new toy.

Still the best of friends!
